From the Study to the Pulpit and from the Academy to the Pew with Jeffrey Weima

By March 7, 2023No Comments

Dr. Jeffrey Weima is Professor of New Testament at Calvin Theological Seminary, where he has taught for 30 years. He is a sought-after speaker who is able to communicate well the truths of the Bible in an interesting, contemporary and practical manner. Jeff has published six books thus far, 5 of them having to do with the letters of the apostle Paul, and the most recent is on the 7 sermons (not letters) of Jesus to the seven churches in Revelation.

This is a book that I was reading for my own personal preparation for a teaching series that I was going through, and I was so enriched that I wanted to try to get him onto the show and have a conversation with him – partly for your benefit, but selfishly, mostly for mine!!!! I wanted to get all the insights and advice that I could from the man himself!

We talk about feedback, making academic study accessible to the broader church and “the chair of despair”
